Impermanence
We all face the reality that one day, our life will end. The pain of our own ultimate demise can lead to avoidance and resistance and suffering. Yet, facing this truth can open up the possibility of finding a deep joy, wild abandon and deep gratitude for this one precious life. We may also ask the question, ‘is there an eternal part to our identity’? And if so, how do we get to know it, and what would relating to it mean for our limited self? This month, we’ll explore the relationship between the timeless, untouched self at rest and the limited, mortal self, with one intention: to open our hearts to the absolute beauty of life itself.

Change and the unchanging (20 August)

Yet there is one lasting and unchanging quality, which is our own true self as quiet, watchful presence. As we deepen our relationship with this unchangingness, we are better able to face the constant and surprise changes we face through our lives.
